Healing Balm

You are the light, that resides bright,
in my heart, I keep you in sight;
waiting each day, for your great might
to heal earth’s blight, to heal earth’s blight.

My own afflictions, are in need
of healing balm from Gilead;
shine your light on Zion, my G’d,
we will concede, we will concede.

Seeing that You, beyond the sky,
hear our prayers, upon our cry;
we beckon You, with heavy sigh,
quickly comply, quickly comply.

Soon to relieve, our sad duress,
grant us access, when we confess;
speak words of health, may we be blessed,
good bye to stress, good bye to stress.

These seeds in earth, are sown to grow,
sprout with care, even in shadow;
wounded when torn, return to glow.
let healing flow, let healing flow.

Choices

To try, or not to try, that is the question.
No, do or do not, there is no try.°
Yet, I feel so hesitant about making a choice.
If you do not choose, you still have made a choice.*
My voice fails me; I no longer have words to speak.
Give your will a voice. Find strength within.
My will is weak. Strengthen me, master.
The Force will strengthen you.

G-d will strengthen you, my child.
Father, I feel so weak. Temptation abounds.
Let His will for you, be your own.
My voice falters, my words are diminished as I speak.
His words are greater than our words, my son.
I can hardly choose the right path, nor find my way.
The way is narrow, and the path is straight.
Then, I will try to make my way through the darkness.
If you try, then He will meet you halfway.

Being Human

Photo by Maria Orlova on Pexels.com

This being human is

more of a responsibility than a freedom,

in need of a guidebook, not carte blanche;

we are not left alone in the playground of the world,

our Father in Heaven watches over us from Above.

Sometimes, forgetfulness seeps into my mind,

even while I try my best to follow the rules;

brings me back to basics, every now and then,

hopeful to find inspiration in the written word.

Ignorance of the divine blueprint of life,

brought me into conflict with my soul;

yet, I learned after enduring much strife,

that following G-d’s will is the key to the whole.

A life in pursuit of worldly bliss,

is best challenged by a desire to seek;

the path for a purpose in life will eclipse

the tendency towards natural instinct.

Dudaim

(Genesis 30:14)

Rachel grows desperate,

requests mandrakes from her rival;

sometimes rendered as mushrooms,

in certain Biblical translations.

An aphrodisiac,

fertility wonder drug;

perhaps, with G-d’s help,

she will conceive.

Meanwhile,

Leah keeps bearing children;

finally, Rachel’s prayers are answered,

with her firstborn, Joseph.

As is written,

except the L-RD build the house,

they labour in vain that build it.

No credit to the mandrakes.

Kingdom

Day by day,

the kingdom arises in the heart,

as does the dew fall from the sky,

and a seedling grow from the ground,

a man, not knowing how this happens.

The sun rises, and the sun sets,

renewal abounds every morning;

oblivion fades into perpetuity,

dawn brings the first ray of light.

I lay me down, and I sleep;

I awake, to a new day,

for the L-RD sustaineth me,

and, my G-d preserves my soul.

The thunder will reveal the truth,

hidden within the heights of heaven;

and, we will be gathered by the angels,

taken to the center of the world.

Ad’nai will then be King over all the earth. In that day Ad’nai will be Echad and His Name Echad.

– Zechariah 14:9

Acquiescence

Understanding is born out of the silence of the heart.

Beyond these shadows of darkness, hiding in the corners,

the light will prevail, truth will be revealed to those who seek;

and, faith will triumph over the lure of worldly agendas.

There is more than one kathèkon, who will stand

against the sweeping tide of secularism;

more than one enlightened soul,

who knows of the revelation from Above.

Nothing under the sun will remain hidden in the darkness,

nor will any untruth echo into the depths of the mind.

The truth will be shown to all in due time, by a heavenly voice,

not the fact checkers, censors, and big media outlets.

Have you not considered, have you not heard?

We are being constantly inundated by the viewpoints,

espoused by those who are given a voice in the media;

while all dissent, silenced, fades from the public eye.

Am I living in the same world that existed yesterday?

If they had their way, they would even cancel out G-d.

Will I acquiesce to the silence?

Betrothal

erev Tu b’Shevat 5781

Every bell rings true

at the wedding of Adam and Eve.

All of the animals, flowers and trees,

pay homage to the crown of creation.

There is a music inside the ten utterances

of the Creator, Who brought all into being.

As each seedling sprouted, a world was born;

and, every niche was made for its own species.

Only today, as stewards, we have forgotten,

how to honor the contract between us and G-d,

when we demonstrate our carelessness,

as species die out, fading from the earth.

Rebirth, renewal, and awareness of life,

will bring us closer to Paradise, while

our souls are uplifted towards Heaven;

in search of a divine betrothal.

Vision

Scintillating, dazzling, spectacular,

vision on display for the children,

who gather around to ponder in awe,

the glowing orb in the sky, like a pinwheel.

My wayward friend, amongst the crowd,

hears a heavenly voice say, “I am G-d.”

Yet, convinced as he seems to be

of his newfound reality, I inwardly lament.

For, even Abraham, who lived amongst idolatry,

realized upon the testing of his intellect,

the foolishness of believing in the sun,

that only rules by day, and the moon by night.

There must be One who created them both,

he thought to himself, in an epiphany

that became the inception of monotheism;

giving birth to his newfound faith.

Across the years of assimilation,

The near annihilation of my people,

We still fall prey, to the zeitgeist of the day,

And the dark shadows of deception at night.
